This week we did a few different tasks that we hope will provide long lasting impressions. We continued work on our beautification project in the front of the Administration Building. Our HKC workers completed the rock wall design they created and started smoothing out rock gravel to prepare for the placement of our flower pots. Recently, the Amphitheater benches were painted, yet not completed. Our staff members went straight up the hill with paint brushes in their hands to finalize this project. Another group of our campers also utilized some of the materials that were donated in order to put smiles on the faces of others. We used materials such as colored construction paper, crayons, colored pencils and markers. My older sister, Lydia was the Camp Kehilla Liaison before I jumped into the position. She recently married a First Lieutenant in the U.S. Army. I thought it would be a great plan to donate our time to putting smiles on some of his soldiers’ faces. We hope to accomplish this goal by mailing the cards we made to thank them all! With all this work, we even fit in some time to create another garden area that will serve double duty. Not only will it add beauty to the front of camp but it will serve as a barrier for golf carts on the grass! Remember, “Be the reason someone smiles today!” |
