Ready, Set, Go! Summer 2012

Ready, Set, Go! Summer 2012

Ready or not, here I come! For anyone who has played Hide and Seek, those are familiar words. At the Henry Kaufmann Campgrounds, WE ARE READYand our camps are ready.

Swimming in our beautiful pool.

All the staff is hired and are putting the finishing touches in their areas to make sure all systems are running smoothly. The pools are filled and sparkling blue, just waiting for all those campers to jump in.

We can’t wait for everyone to see the results of our off-season efforts.  Since the last bus pulled out last summer, we have been getting ready for summer 2012! Over the past year, our hardworking crew has been repairing, painting, raking, mowing, clearing and overall sprucing up the grounds and checking to make sure all of our pools, bathrooms, water fountains and program areas are in pristine condition and working order.

Could this kick be a goal?

There’s also been a lot of building and renovating during the past year. Foremost is the Kathy and Alan Greenberg Sports Pavilion opening this week at the Alice N. Proskauer site on Long Island. This brand new indoor, air conditioned facility will be shared by all the camps on that site and we can guarantee that the campers will enjoy learning new skills and playing here.
Not only are we ready, but so are the agency camps.

All of our camps are starting in the next several days with JCC on the Hudson and the Suffolk Y JCC among the first to open on June 25th and the Lillian Schwartz Day Camp of the Staten Island JCC the last to open on July 2nd.

Our campers love this colorful playground!

Staff orientation and camper open houses are all taking place as our camp directors dot their “I”s and cross their “T”s to welcome campers on the first day.

The Henry Kaufmann Campgrounds look great and we can’t wait for the first bus to pull in!  At HKC, everyone and everything is ready for you.  Are you ready for a fantastic summer at camp?
