Who knew how fun it would be to watch a ball game from the back of the field?
On Tuesday night 100 young professionals came together to celebrate day camping at the Henry Kaufmann Campgrounds in the Clubhouse at Citi Field.
Even with a slight rain delay it was a great night. With burgers from Shake Shack, ribs from Blue Smoke and hot dogs from Nathans, along with an array of beer, wine and soft drinks, the stage was set for an amazing night.
With seats located behind right field right next to the Mets bull pen, burgers from Shake Shack, ribs from Blue Smoke and hot dogs from Nathans, along with an array of beer, wine and soft drinks, the stage was set for an amazing night.
Just as noteworthy, we had a number of camp director staff from the 16 day camps that call HKC home, joining in the festivities.
Even the rain delay did not disappoint – it just served as the perfect opportunity for the group to gather to hear some remarks from the Friends of HKC Committee, our Guest Speaker Shara Perlman, Assistant Director of Camping at the JCC Association, and our CEO, Lenny Silberman.
The message was clear – HKC plays a vital role in ensuring kids from all backgrounds can have an amazing summer experience – but we need this generation to support HKC and the agencies so that they will be able to continue to provide the experiences we do for generations to come.
Thank you to David Katz, President of the Henry Kaufmann Campgrounds board for making this night possible.
